What is Examination?

A process by which teens and younger children undergo a full dental examination in order to assess their dental health, uncover any damages, and make a plan to repair any and all issues, a pediatric examination is one of the most important dental visits that any parent can make on behalf of their child.

During this time, the dentist will discuss things such as diet and hygeine with your child in order to teach them how to take care of their teeth in the future.

How Often Kids Should Get Examination?

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that all children schedule a pediatric examination after their first tooth erupts (around 4-6 months) and no later than their first birthday. Thereafter, your child should have a dental exam annually, and they should also be seen if there are any issues with pain or any concern with the appearance or functionality of their teeth.

You should monitor your child’s hygiene habits and dental health regularly. If you notice any significant changes in the condition of your child’s teeth or gums, you should schedule a pediatric dental examination for your child immediately. That way, the dentist will treat the problems before they become even worse.
